Convert an Avid AAF into a useful Excel or CSV report.
AAF Ledgers reads the metadata already carried by an Avid AAF and turns selected fields into an ordered spreadsheet. Choose the fields you need, rename the headings, and export a clean CSV or formatted XLSX workbook.
What the conversion includes
An AAF can contain much more than clip names and edit points. Depending on how the sequence and its source media were prepared, AAF Ledgers can expose source filenames, clip names, TapeID values, comments, track assignments, source timecode, record timecode, durations, frame rate, raster, format, and additional custom metadata.
The available-field list is generated from the uploaded file. That means a production can select the metadata actually present in its AAF instead of being limited to a fixed report template.
Build the spreadsheet your workflow needs
Start with the built-in Producer Report or Music EDL preset, or create a custom arrangement. Every selected AAF field can be mapped to the spreadsheet heading your team expects. Personal presets follow one user, while shared presets can standardize reporting across a client workspace.
- Choose video, audio, both, or automatic track selection.
- Reorder and rename spreadsheet columns.
- Preview timeline rows before downloading.
- Export machine-readable CSV or a formatted XLSX workbook.
Private processing and retention
Uploads require an authenticated workspace. The raw AAF is deleted after successful processing, generated reports and processed data expire after seven days, and failed or abandoned uploads are removed within 24 hours. AAF Ledgers is a reporting tool, not a customer backup or restoration service.
Every report should still be reviewed against the source AAF and other authoritative records before it is used for accounting, payroll, tax, legal, guild, contractual, or production decisions.
AAF workflow questions
Does AAF Ledgers convert the media inside an AAF?
No. It reads AAF structure and metadata to create reports. It does not transcode, grade, or restore picture and sound media.
Can I choose my own Excel columns?
Yes. Select any populated metadata field exposed by the AAF, change the spreadsheet heading, reorder the columns, and save the configuration as a preset.
Does it work only with Avid AAF files?
AAF Ledgers is optimized for Avid workflows and also identifies supported AAF files exported by applications such as DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro. Available metadata varies by exporting application.
