ALAAF Ledgers
Producer reports

Build an Avid producer report without copying a bin by hand.

Upload an Avid AAF, review the metadata found across its timeline, and export the fields your production needs. The built-in Producer Report is a starting point—not a locked template.

A report based on the actual AAF

The report is generated from the uploaded AAF rather than a screen capture or pasted bin view. Timeline rows preserve record position while source-related columns expose the metadata available for each edit. This makes it possible to compare names, source files, comments, TapeID values, tracks, source timecode, record timecode, and duration in one spreadsheet.

Metadata coverage depends on the exporting application and the way source clips were created. AAF Ledgers shows the populated fields it finds so missing values remain visible instead of being silently invented.

Standardize reports across a team

Save frequently used column layouts as presets. A personal preset follows one account, while a shared workspace preset gives multiple assistant editors the same headings and order. That reduces formatting differences between episodes, editors, and delivery dates.

  • Start from the Producer Report preset.
  • Add production-specific custom columns carried by the AAF.
  • Rename technical AAF fields to familiar report headings.
  • Download CSV for data workflows or XLSX for a formatted workbook.

Review before relying on the report

A producer report can reveal useful source and timing information, but it is still derived from metadata supplied by the AAF. Review important information against the source sequence, Avid bins, media records, and other authoritative production documents.

AAF Ledgers preserves a clean CSV for downstream systems and adds an Important Information worksheet to XLSX exports. The on-screen report also keeps the review notice beside the download controls.

Common questions

AAF workflow questions

Which columns are included in the default Producer Report?

The starting preset includes source file, clip name, comments, TapeID, track or channel, source in and out, record in and out, and duration. You can add, remove, reorder, or rename columns.

Can different clients use different report formats?

Yes. Save personal presets for an individual workflow or shared presets for everyone in a client workspace.

Will the report always contain every Avid bin column?

No. An AAF only carries the metadata written into that file. AAF Ledgers exposes populated metadata it can read, but it cannot recover information that the exporting workflow omitted.
